Mull of Kintyre
Glen Kerran farm is our new home base and a very exciting, lifelong project we look forward to sharing with you! Just north of Southend in the Mull of Kintyre, we are lucky to be surrounded by glorious beaches, craggy sea cliffs and rolling hills – in addition to our 100 acres of farmland. On every one of our riding adventures here, you will have the ultimate 'Wilder Ways' experience; from high-quality, home-cooked meals made from our own produce, to luxury accommodation at our traditional stone farmhouse. |
Home from home with a twist of luxury
We have given the 150-year-old Glen Kerran farmhouse a Wilder Ways make-over so you can stay with us during your holiday. Spend your down time hosted by us in this homely and quaint Scottish farmhouse. Be both relaxed and inspired by the stunning views from the dining room with our menagerie just outside the window; horses, sheep, cats, dogs and chickens never far away; and the local wildlife making regular appearances. The bedrooms are all country styled. The largest double room (also available as a family room) is ensuite, with the other 3 rooms being available as doubles or twins and sharing 2 bathrooms between them, one with a shower and the other with a bath to soak any weary muscles. |
Non-stop Adventures
One of the most exciting things about this new home base is that we now get to offer a whole host of adventures all year round. As well as access to countless scenic trails, we also have great facilities here on the farm; including our brand-new 60mx30m outdoor arena. Whether you are looking to explore the landscapes and hit the trails; try something different on horseback like horse archery or jumping; or simply want to build up your confidence, we have an adventure for you. Explore our full adventure schedule to plan your perfect holiday now. |
Food glorious, guilt free, food
We at Wilder Ways love food and we are passionate about environmental sustainability and self-sufficiency. We therefore aim to source our all our ingredients responsibly and as far as possible locally. Our fresh produce comes straight from our farm and other local producers within Kintyre. Most of our ‘dry stores’ come from Greencity, a Glasgow based company trading in ethically sourced quality produce and championing co-operative working. During your stay with us you will therefore be treated to some local gastronomic delights and wholesome home cooking, with the best twists of Scottish cuisine and hospitality. You can do all of this guilt free, knowing your food has low mileage, your meat is free range and pre-loved, and you can even help pick your own veg and collect the eggs! |

Directions
The Mull of Kintyre is at the tip of the Kintyre Peninsula at the far south-west of Scotland. To get here you can either drive, fly or take the bus. It’s not just around the corner but well worth the journey, which is all part of the adventure.
Airports
The closest international airport is Glasgow International. There is a small shuttle flight with Loganair that runs daily to Campbeltown which is relatively inexpensive if you book in advance (from £32 each way) and only takes 40 mins, landing its 16 seater plane on the UK’s longest runway at Macrihanish. Flights mainly leave at 9.05am and 17.30pm from Campbeltown and from 9.45 am and 18.10pm from Glasgow. Otherwise Glasgow airport is a 3 hour drive from Glen Kerran or 4 hour bus journey (see below).
By Bus
There is a regular bus service from Glasgow Bus Station (Buchanan St) to Campbeltown – service 926. Buchanan bus station is easily accessible from all mainline Glasgow train stations. Buses leave every 2/3 hours and take 4 hours and 10 minutes.
One bus a day picks up from the airport at 14.20pm and runs directly to Campbeltown. Otherwise you can get the Glasgow Airport Express bus-service 500 into Glasgow and pick up the regular 926 to Campbeltown from there. The airport express leaves every 10 minutes and takes about 15 minutes into Glasgow.
The daily 8.30am bus from Campbeltown drops off at Glasgow airport at 12.25pm. With any other departure, you would need to go into Glasgow and get the Airport Shuttle 500 service back to the airport.
By Taxi
From Campbelltown
If going a Wilder Ways holiday, we will provide a taxi transfer between Glen Kerran Farm and Campbelltown Airport or Campbelltown Bus Stop at the predetermined times (see details of your specific holiday for times). Out with these times it is possible to book a taxi, but this will be charged at cost and must be booked in advance since there are no taxi ranks nearby.

However, local firm Roy’s Taxis, are offering our customers a special discounted rate between Glasgow Airport and Glen Kerran Farm for any flights with a pickup time before 5pm.
