Adventure Summary
For some of you, Wilder Ways is becoming an addiction. What begins as a one-off holiday, is becoming an annual migration.
We are truly humbled by the number of people who keep coming back for more. Each year, over 40% of our riders have ridden with us at least once before. And there is hot competition at the top between those who have done the most trip with us:- two friends from Glasgow, two sisters from Belgium and a husband and wife from Boston, each now on over 10 trips with us. Anyway, why do we tell you this – well in order to fuel your addiction we have to keep coming up with new wild and wonderful experiences for you. So, this time get your hands real dirty and become part of the team. Consider this the hidden track on the CD. It’s time for Wilder Working! |
These weeks are exclusively for previous Wilder Ways guests and offered as a ‘loyalty gift’ (and a very good excuse to see you again) at a significantly reduced rate compared to our usual holidays. You will receive all the same brilliant hospitality, horse experience and positive energy from Nikki & Cara. But this time, you get to sit on our side of the fence! Each working week we offer will have a slightly different focus according to where the herd are in the season. During all weeks, you will work closely with Nikki & Cara who will provide support, training and tuition throughout. |
March 1st-7th: This is the time when the herd come back into work. During this week you will help us to pamper the horses, give them a post-winter makeover and take over their daily care routines, including massage and physio. You will also complete daily sessions in horsemanship and have an active role in training the horses both from the ground and ridden. We will be mostly working in the arena but will enjoy some short, light hacks if the weather allows. This experience is available to riders of all abilities with enthusiasm for taking care of horses. March 22nd – 28th: Horses looking hot to trot, this week is designed to go more in depth into the horses ‘way of going’ both mentally and physically. The emphasis will be on more advanced horsemanship and schooling to improve the horses’ responsiveness, suppleness and fitness. We will also start ramping up the ridden hours to get them fit for the season ahead. Prior horsemanship and/or dressage experience is required. |
Itinerary The daily itinerary will depend on the individual people and horses. However, you can be sure it will include lots of horses, learning and laughter. Everyone shares cooking duties and there is a real nurturing sense of community about the whole experience. You will enjoy 5 full days of horse activities including horse care, horsemanship and riding, spending approximately 6 hours per day working ‘on the yard’ with the Wilder Ways team. After dinners, there will be opportunities for additional learning with lectures, demos, videos, games and discussions to share. |
