Looking for an extended Wilder Ways adventure with a twist of hard graft, a splash of new skills, an overdose of fresh air and a whole heap of fun with some new folks?
We offer volunteering opportunities throughout the year and across a range of different activities for riders and non-riders, including:

• Housekeeping & hospitality
• Gardening & grounds maintenance
• Building maintenance
• Woodland management
• Livestock care
• Horse care & riding

We offer two quite different formats for our volunteering placements – winter season and summer season (longer placements).  Please see further details below.

In return, we offer full bed & board, training, qualification opportunities, and lots of epic adventures.

We are also now offering Wilder Working Week Holidays - exclusively for previous Wilder Ways guests, be one of the Wilder Ways herd and to live a week in our shoes. Experience a week of unadulterated high-quality horse time and loads of learning opportunities, all while receiving the same brilliant hospitality and positive energy as any of our other holidays (but at a significantly reduced rate!). Winter Season (Nov-Mar) Placements
Want to escape into the wilderness and be part of projects to help us create more wonders at Wilder Ways?  Roll up your sleeves and come join us behind the scenes. Typical tasks include:

• Gardening (planting, weeding, mowing and strimming)
• Woodland management (planting, felling, firewood processing)
• Horse training (groundwork, massaging and physio exercises, schooling, trekking to get horses fit)
• Property maintenance (external i.e. fencing and building repairs, track maintenance)
• Property maintenance (internal i.e. painting, furniture repairs, deep cleaning)

Summer Season (April – Oct) Placements

During this time the farm is full of riding holiday guests and is a busy place with much to do.  Volunteers are invited at this time to become part of the team and to enjoy the bustle of life when we are delivering adventures for guests.  Typical tasks include:
​

• Feeding and watering all farm animals
• Preparing horses for rides
• Mucking out and cleaning yard
• Gardening (watering, weeding and harvesting)
• Walking dogs
• Joining rides as a guide (if suitable riding experience)

Please note that the minimum placement we offer in High Season is 3 weeks.  Given to the remoteness and social isolation in the evenings, placements are recommended for couples or friend groups (i.e. 2-3 applicants together).  

​Accommodation is in a caravan or 2-bedroom stone cottage on the farm.  A food budget is provided but volunteers will cater for themselves each night.
