These 7 day riding holidays offer a full week of horsing around. You will enjoy 6 days in the saddle and have a rest day in the middle to either just kick back and enjoy some R&R in a beautiful setting or enjoy a non-riding activity for the day, which we can help to organise for you if you would like.
This week is action packed with adventure. We will ride a different route each day and indulge ourselves in the evenings with authentic hospitality and fabulous local food. Depending on the location you may also find yourself dancing the night away at a local ceilidh, soaking your weary muscles in a hot tub, sampling some local whisky or taking a romantic stroll along a star-lit beach.
What’s included?
Our Base Ride Week Holidays include 6 days riding and 7 nights’ accommodation full board. Each day we will stop for a scenic picnic lunch (provided by us) and usually at least one short break for light refreshments and a leg stretch as required during the ride. View What We Provide in our Terms for full details.
Our Week Base Rides typically run from 5pm on Day 1 to 1.30pm on Day 7 (please check details of your specific trip).
The rest day is on Day 4 and is yours to spend how you choose. You will be provided with a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day and we will come back together for evening dinner. If you would like us to assist you to plan a non-riding activity for this day please just get in touch. Our locations page will give you some useful information and ideas.
The price for our Base Ride Week Holidays start from £1,425 per person for our itinerary as described (not including rest day activities). This price is based on two people sharing a room and single person supplements will apply. All of our riding holidays on Knoydart are charged at a 10% premium as a result of the particularly remote setting and luxury package offered. Price may vary further according to your specific requirements. The full price will be confirmed on booking. Please view full Terms prior to booking.
Our Base Ride Week Holidays run on specified dates between April and October (see our Diary below) across only two of our pop-up locations (i.e. Knoydart and Argyll’s Secret Coast). If the specified dates do not suit you please contact us and we may be able to offer you a similar itinerary as an Adventure to Order.

The Ride
Our week adventure starts along a hill track deep into the interior and alongside the black waters of the Dubh Loch. We'll trek between the mountains along historic pony paths, ride by clear mountain rivers with tumbling waterfalls and climb right up into a high mountain pass whilst spotting for soaring eagles. You will then scramble around the hillside, through the ruins of old fields and abandoned stone cottages before discovering the tiny inhabited settlement of Airor, the 'Road's End Café' and its culinary delights whilst watching out for sea life.
After your rest day, you will follow a winding trail to the north coast, crossing a wide stony river and picking our way across the open moorland. We'll navigate around the coast, exploring beaches made of rare, cold-water corals and black volcanic sand with stunning views to Skye and the Small Isles; before travelling back to the remote coastal village of Inverie through the mountains for some beach games and maybe even a swim on the last day.
During your adventure you will care for your horse as if it was your own and we will support you to do this. Your time is your own on the rest day, free to explore the area at a different pace – see our locations page for ideas.
This itinerary may change due to weather or other factors or be ridden in reverse.
Price may vary according to your specific requirements, please see our Terms and Conditions.
