Tranquil Farm B&B with horses, farm animals & wildlife in view from every window.
Wilder Ways horse-riding adventures now also offer B&B accommodation at our secluded farm at Glen Kerran, in the far south of Kintyre. You will stay at our 150-year old, traditional stone farmhouse in one of four, country-styled bedrooms. There are stunning views across the glen from every room, often with horses grazing just outside the window. As well as your room there is a comfortable shared sitting area downstairs with games and DVDs and the beautiful glass dining-room with tea and coffee always available. |
Your tasty, home-cooked breakfast is made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, including an increasing amount of our own produce. You can enjoy the views while you eat in the glass room, a stunning timber and glass space that looks south across the fields. We are also happy to provide lunch and dinner by request.
Glen Kerran is an ideal spot from where to explore the tip of Kintyre, from the golden, sandy beaches at Southend and Machrihanish to the fascinating caves of Davaar Island and the cliffs and lighthouse at the ‘Mull’; the very south-western tip of Scotland. There are some stunning walks around the peninsula including the ‘Kintyre Way’ a long-distance footpath that stretches from the tip of Kintyre to Tarbert and beyond. If you are a bird-watcher, Kintyre is a hotspot for sea-birds and migrants and our own little glen boasts hen harrier, barn owls, kingfisher and the occasional eagle, often seen from the breakfast room!

There are other fun local activities available as well. If you like horse-riding, day and half-day treks are offered onsite by Wilder Ways and are a great way to explore the area, you could even try horseback archery. There are two outstanding golf-courses at Machrihanish and a rifle firing range within the old air base. Follow these up with a slice of one of Frances’ outstanding cakes at the Muneroy tea-rooms, Southend – it’s worth going there just to hear the girls recite the list of cakes available!
